How it works

Describe what you want to make

Open the composer and write a short description of what you want to build.

Pick a questioning mode

Choose between three modes before or during the idea step. Press ⇥ to cycle forward, ⇧⇥ to cycle back.

Answer the questions

PRD Maker asks clarifying questions one at a time. Type your answer or use a suggestion (⌘1–3). You can go back and edit any earlier answer.

Get the document

A complete PRD appears with a starter prompt already on your clipboard. The document is saved to your Mac and optionally shared as a link.

Questioning modes

You can write the PRD early — from question 2 onward, press ⌘D to skip the remaining questions and generate the document with what you’ve answered so far.

Suggestions

Each question comes with up to three suggested answers. Use them with ⌘1, ⌘2, or ⌘3, or click one. They’re generated from your idea and previous answers.

Where PRDs are kept

Every PRD is saved as Markdown in ~/Documents/Dax Specs/, named for the project with a timestamp. The starter prompt is at the end of the same file. Nothing is deleted — old ones stay until you move them. Open the folder from Settings → Tools → PRD Maker → Open Specs Folder. After writing, the PRD is automatically uploaded and available as a shareable link. Use Copy for agent to copy a fetch command a remote coding agent can run. Links expire (default 7 days). If you’re offline or not signed in, the PRD is still written and saved locally — the link is a convenience, not a requirement.

Privacy

Only the text you type is sent, and only when you press ↩. The finished PRD is written to your Documents folder, not the server. The optional shareable link is the one part that leaves your Mac.
