# Generate Image

> Make an image from a prompt, right from the menu bar.

**Generate Image** turns a text prompt into an image without opening a separate
app. Describe what you want, generate it, and use it — for a placeholder, an
icon, a diagram sketch, or a quick visual idea.

## Open it

Choose **Generate Image** from the Dax menu bar.

## Use it

    Dax creates the image from your prompt.

    Keep the result, or send it straight to [Image to URL](/tools/image-to-url)
