# Clipboard History

> Search and re-paste anything you've copied — text, images, and files.

**Clipboard History** keeps a searchable log of everything you copy — text,
images, and files — so you can bring any of them back with a keystroke.
On-device only.

## Open it

Press <kbd>⌃</kbd> <kbd>⌥</kbd> <kbd>C</kbd> from any app.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Copy things as usual">
    Every time you copy (⌘C), Dax silently saves the item to your local
    history.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the palette">
    Press <kbd>⌃</kbd> <kbd>⌥</kbd> <kbd>C</kbd>. Your recent copies appear
    in a searchable list with a full preview of the selected item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Re-paste">
    Press <kbd>↩</kbd> to put the selected item back on your clipboard, ready
    to paste wherever you need it.
  </Step>

## Tips

* Your clipboard history stays entirely on your Mac — nothing is uploaded.
* Text, images, and files are all supported.
* Type to search across all copied items.
* Configure the history size in **Settings → Tools → Clipboard History**.
